Better late than never:
Last week Helsinki celebrated the second Helsinki Burlesque festival. The city was filled with workshops, movies and exhibitions. To end a wonderful week, there was a colourful gala "It Happened On the Silver Screen" held at Gloria. It was such a joy for once to dress up to the nines and not worry about going over the border!
Even the slogan of the occasion said it:
"Don't come as you are, come as a dazzling moviestar!"
Oh the work people put in their dresses and costumes! The dedication! You would meet a cowboy, Frankenstein's fiancé, mermaids, can-can girls and beautiful, sensual burlesque performers. The imagination, humour and personal touch was wonderfully inspiring.
