How to make a Proper Cup Of Tea

Oh tea! How do I love Thee! Let me count the ways...

How hard it is though to find a nice, properly made cup of tea. And it does not require expensive machinery or equipment, just the willingness to make it. So I'll let you in a little secret and I'd be very happy if you'd spread the rumor: here's how you make that nectar of sunshine and all things merry:

1. Boil water.
2. Pour some of the just boiled water in the teapot, rinse it and pour out. This is to warm the pot for tea.
3. Measure loose tealeaves, 1 teaspoon for 1 cup, plus 1 teaspoon for the pot. Loose tealeaves make so much better tea than teabags, as they are usually better and bigger quality than the leftover dust that can be hidden inside the bags. And also there's less waste, as you don't have to deal with the excessive packaging.
4. Pour the just boiled water on the leaves, pop a teacosy on the pot, and let the tea stew, depending on the type, for about 4 minutes.
5. Pour the tea in a teacup through a sieve.
6. Best time of the day.

I'm sure this picture wins the award for the silliest-rebus-ever hands down, but it made me giggle, so here goes... Know the right answer for this picture puzzle first and you'll win... a Pattern Bakery Teatowel! (well, what else...)

  1. Aww, but why does the tea leave? With no shoes on? And where does she go? It's no use, tea leaves. Please come back tea!

  2. Nah, begone tea! And send in your friend coffee! ;)

  3. Yes, indeed, the answer is tea leaves, or tealeaves. The teatowel found a good home, congrats!
