Setting the Summer!

Here they come! We just got the designer samples from japanese company Belle Maison and they look just adorable! I can bet that I will use these lovely items in our garden next weekend as we have a summer party. A door mat with yellow and white flowers (below) fits perfectly to our daughter´s little play house. Can´t wait to have a glass of rhubarb syrup sitting in a tiny rattan chair!

Spring feelings from Japan!

The new summer catalog from our Japanese long term partner Belle Maison has been published! Here´s some pics of the delicacies, find the lovely cushions with floral patterns and cute slippers with tiny birds! We are definitely waiting for the designer samples to arrive! All photos by Belle Maison.

Boundless Design

The Finnish Association of Designers called Ornamo recently published a book to celebrate their 100 years. The book is called Rajaton Muotoilu - näkökulmia suomalaiseen taideteollisuuteen (Boundless Design - perspectives on Finnish art and design). It is a "compilation of articles by well-known Finnish experts on design, reviewing various branches of design and its importance to the national identity and economy of Finland." In other words, it offers many different opinions and viewpoints on how to look at Finnish design during the 100 year period. And also lots of interesting pictures!

Belle Maison Autumn Winter 2011-2012

The new catalog from our Japanese friends at Belle Maison has been published! Full of Kawaii things, and also with the special pages 64-67 under Pattern Bakery's name, can be found by clicking here. Other favorites with PB-patterns would include, for example, duvet covers on page 62 and rug on 58.

From Japan

Few snaps of the delicacies we received from Japan last week. They are our patterns on Belle Maison products in their recent Autumn-Winter catalog. Lots of lovely blankets and dresses, and now I know what a "kotatsu" is, it's a Japanese blanket on a low table, it spreads over the whole table and you can put your feet under it while sitting at the table. Why we don't have anything like that in Finland is beyond me, we're the cold country!

What a lovely surprise, the latest Belle Maison catalog has been published! Belle Maison is a Japanese company we have had the pleasure of working with for couple of years now. Our patterns on their products can be viewed starting from page 158. Wish I could read Japanese to know what those quilted things on tables are, but they do look warm and snugly for winter...

Rain garden

Last week we received some designer samples from Belle Maison, Japan. Here's couple of photos of one of our patterns called "Rain garden" they have used for their product design, a lovely duvet cover and pillow cases. The pattern can be also bought as a curtain. We'll post photos of more of the nice samples as soon as possible.

While we eagerly await new samples from the new Belle Maison spring-collection to arrive, here's few bags from last autumn.

We were happy to find out that the new catalogue from Belle Maison has been published! Again, you can find our patterns in the section labelled "Atelier Tytöt", from pages 66-75. Our patterns have been used on other products as well, my favorites are the cutest little tunic on page 18, the lovely rug on page 19 and the green bedding on page 57.

Last week we received the designer samples from our Japanese client Belle Maison. They have designed these cute products and used our patterns and prints on them. These are our photos of few of the samples, more you can view on their catalogue, on "Atelier Tytöt", on pages 17-27.

Belle Maison Staff Report

We've had the pleasure of collaborating with the lovely people at Belle Maison, Japan for couple of years now. As we sell lots of patterns annually around the world, and most of them through agents, we don't necessarily ever find out where they end up. And of course it would be so nice to see the final products with one's pattern on them.

We receive few designer samples annually, and the ones Belle Maison sends us are always a pleasant surprise (photo above, taken at Pattern Bakery studio...). For their latest catalogue they did our introduction. The patterns there are from Pattern Bakery, under our previous name "the collection", and the product design is theirs. Unfortunately, my Japanese isn't up to scratch, but apparently the text says that when they visited us to exchange views about our products and future developments, the meeting was conducted by eating sweets and laughing in a friendly atmosphere. And that we are "humorous cute girls". Please pop in Belle Maison, any time you like! See you soon!
