Yet another seasonal Finnish tradition is crab feast in August. You can buy the crabs or go catching them yourself. The party is thick with its own rituals, from special drinking songs to the way the tables are decorated with dill and napkins, bibs and cutlery. The crabs are cooked in salt water and then eaten cooled as they are, or on toast with butter and dill. But the most important spice is to gather a big bunch of friends and make a night out of it!
Amazing lobster pile! I love the dill blossoms- never seen them served that way- Your parties look like such fun
VastaaPoistaThanks Chelsea, and sorry, a mistake, they're actually crayfish in English, not crabs... We'll have a party when you come to Finland, promise!
VastaaPoistaDon't tempt me! I will take you up on that offer!
