Boy, how I wish I could tell you these photos were from my backyard, but sadly no. They were sent to us by our Japanese agent, where they are currently having the hanami. Hanami means enjoying the beauty of flowers and it is celebrated these days by having picnics under the cherry trees, the cherry blossoms called sakura. I can't think of a lovelier reason to celebrate, maybe this year we'll have a Finnish hanami when the apple trees blossom in May or June?

Happy Hanami!
